We’ll come back one day…

We’re travelling Scotland for about twenty years and Glen Carragrich was the best kept cottage we ever had. The house is very comfortable and offers great views over East Loch Tarbert. The free Wi-Fi puts the cherry on the cake. The owner was always very caring and so was the lady who looks after the house.
When leaving by ferry from Tarbert we waved a last good-bye to the cottage hoping we’ll come back one day.The cottage is an ideal starting point for walks in the hills of North Harris. From the southern shores of Scalpay one can watch sea life like seals or submarines :-).
Tarbert with village shops, post office, ferry terminal and Tourist Information Centre is only a few miles away. Don’t miss the Tarbert Stores – it’s really picturesque.

Excellent accommodation which makes a wonderful base to explore

This cottage has a wonderful coastal setting but yet is only a few miles from Tarbert. Everything about this accommodation is five star with great facilities and extremely clean. We discovered absolutely everything we needed and the wi-fi was an unexpected bonus. The owner called on the evening of our arrival to check everything was ok which was an example of the warm welcome, wonderful service and attention to detail. Despite poor weather, our week flew past and after a day on the hills or exploring the beautiful beaches in the wind and rain the cottage always provided a welcoming cosy home from home. We enjoyed the peaceful setting and spent hours watching the ever changing sky and catching sight of the Calmac ferry. I would recommend this cottage without reservation.
Excellent central location, cosy, spotless and peaceful

We have just returned from an idyllic trip to Harris aided by the wall to wall sunshine. The cottage excelled all expectations. Very warm, exceptionally clean and perfectly equipped. My two son’s aged 6 & 9 loved it. My elder son, who is asthmatic had no problems at all. We arrived a little late after a long trip to find tea, coffee, fresh milk and orange juice, shortbread and some chocolate biscuits for the children. It was a thoughtful and much appreciated welcome. The location of the cottage is particularly good as it enables one to explore both Islands without extended journeys. Quiet, homely and good value. We would thoroughly recommend it and would like to thank the owners very much for their generosity.
Wish we could have stayed for the summer.

My wife and I booked Glen Carragrich for a short stay on Harris. It was spotlessly clean, incredibly well appointed
and in a delightful location with sea views. Our only regret is that we could not stay longer. Next time we will book
a few weeks at least!
